Tata Altroz Owner’s Review
Everyone knows about the safety standards Tata has achieved. Tata Altroz has a five-star Global NCAP rating. Moreover, it’s the safest car in the segment; therefore, the YouTuber dud not discussed its safety features in the video.
1. Comfort and Convenience
According to the owner, the comfort level provided by Tata Motors is very impressive. The user found automatic climate control and auto headlamps as some of the most useful features.
Additionally, he said the suspension is of superb quality and perfectly deals with the irregularities of the roads. The suspension is firm enough and does not compromise the handling of the Altroz XZ.
Tata Altroz is equipped with Independent McPherson Strut with Coil spring suspension at the front and a twist-beam with coil spring and shock absorber suspension system at the rear.
2. High-Speed Stability
As per the owner, most cars in this segment find it challenging to maintain stability at high speeds of around 130 or 140 km/h.
He said that Maruti Suzuki Baleno struggles after a speed of 130 km/h, and the driver doesn’t feel confident enough while driving the car.
However, that’s not the case with Tata Altroz. He mentioned that he drove his Tata Altroz XZ at a speed of 160 km/h and still had full control over the car. It further boosted his confidence while driving the vehicle at highway speed.
3. Engine Performance
The BS6 compliant 1.2-liter engine of Tata Altroz churns out more than 86 BHP and 113 Nm of torque. The YouTuber revealed that some people criticize the engine output, and claim that the performance of Altroz is not up to the mark.
However, the Youtuber never felt that his car was inadequate in terms of performance. He reiterated that Tata Altroz reaching 160 km/h without struggling, is proof that its engine is quite powerful.
Additionally, the owner reported that his Altroz could sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in around 13 seconds, which is quite impressive in its segment.
However, its rival Maruti Baleno can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 12.36 seconds, which is a bit quicker than Altroz.
4. Ground Clearance
Tata Altroz has a ground clearance of 165 mm. The owner mentioned he has traveled on all kinds of roads, especially the ones with bumps and speed breakers, and his car never scraped the ground.
Often his car had four passengers while driving through such roads, the ground clearance was enough to pass over them easily.
However, one has to be gentle when driving over big speed breakers and bumps; otherwise, any car irrespective of the brand can suffer damage.
Tata Altroz: Cons
According to the owner, there’s not much to complain about the car. However, if we compare the acceleration of Altroz with Maruti Baleno, then Altroz lags behind a bit.
But one should consider the fact that the Baleno is more than 100 kgs (Kerb weight) lighter than Tata Altroz, This weight difference plays a vital role in Baleno’s acceleration.
Apart from that, the Youtuber has few issues with the design like antenna design, but again, that’s an individual’s personal choice.
Well, overall, the owner seems extremely satisfied with his decision. He also mentioned that he has used Maruti cars in the past, and it was difficult for him to choose Tata over Maruti. However, he is happy with his decision now.
