Reliance Jio has released a new Indian Zoom alternative named JioMeet. The new Jio video conferencing app is available on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. JioMeet is going to have a face-off with other video conferencing tools available in the market, including Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and others.
The Zoom alternative has the capacity to hold 100 participants in a video conference. Users can sign-in to the app using their phone numbers or email IDs. JioMeet supports HD quality meetings to provide the best experience.
How To Use Jio Meet
You first need to download JioMeet from Google Play Store and then sign-up using your mobile number. You’ll see multiple options after signing up including an option to start a new meeting, join an ongoing meeting, schedule a meeting, or share the screen.
Apart from this, users who don’t have an account on Jio can also join a meeting. All you need is the invite link and the password to enter the meeting. You can also attend the conference via the app without creating an account. The Share screen option is available only for participants who are using the mobile app. This could be a problem if you are using JioMeet for professional work.
Rivals of the Indian Zoom alternative
As of now, the Indian Zoom alternative has to compete with other apps like Zoom Meetings, Google Meet, Microsoft Team, and a few more. The absence of a screen sharing feature for the web can be a disadvantage for the app.
However, JioMeet has already crossed 100K downloads in a day, and it will be interesting to see how far the Indian video conferencing app goes.
Jio is leaving no stone unturned to provide the best services to its users. Previously, the company introduced data packs with a free annual subscription of Disney+ Hotstar. The company also launched JioMart service in selected locations that allow users to order groceries using WhatsApp.
