Today, Xiaomi announced the MIUI 12 update for its Indian users in a live stream video. This marks the third MIUI 12 announcement event since it was first unveiled in China, followed by a global event.
As expected, the MIUI 12 India event talked about the latest features of MIUI 12, including Super Wallpaper, brand-new 3D animations, new app drawer, Magic Clone feature of MIUI Camera app and a lot more.
But most important of all was the new MIUI 12 roll-out schedule for Xiaomi devices in India. On the live stream, Muralikrishnan B, Chief Operating Officer at Xiaomi India, said that the MIUI 12 update would become available to Mi 10 users “very soon.”
The update will also be available on “most Mi and Redmi phones over a few phases,” according to Muralikrishnan.
Here is the new MIUI 12 Update India Roll-out Schedule —
- Mi 10
- Redmi Note 9/ Redmi Note 9 Pro
- Redmi Note 8/ Redmi Note 8 Pro
- Redmi Note 7/ Redmi Note 7 Pro
Muralikrishnan mentions that MIUI 12 updates in India will begin rolling out starting this month. The information coincides with a previous official list that said MIUI 12 would roll out to 23 Xiaomi devices starting August 2020.
Interestingly, several Xiaomi devices in India, such as Redmi K20/K20Pro, have already received the MIUI 12 Stable update. Meanwhile, all the devices mentioned in the above list have been testing MIUI for quite some time.
Another interesting thing to note is that the list doesn’t talk about Poco X2, which is quite popular among Indian users. While a beta update has been rolled out to several Poco X2 users, it’s difficult to predict when an MIUI 12 stable update will arrive.
