Ahead of the current Nitrux 1.3.0, its founder Uri Herrera has released a new point version — Nitrux 1.3.1. The latest v1.3.1 comes with several software updates, bug fixes, performance improvements, and new hardware support.
Nitrux is one of the unique Linux distributions not only because of its beautiful KDE Plasma desktop but also for using a portable universal application format, AppImage, in addition to a package manager like APT and DPKG. So, let’s see what more Nitrux 1.3.1 offers.
Nitrux 1.3.1: What’s New?
Starting with the core component, Nitrux has upgraded its Linux Kernel from the previous version 5.6.0-1017 to the latest 5.6.0-1020 that brings new bug and security fixes.
Among other parts, v1.3.1 has majorly added visual changes. For instance, it has updated KDE Plasma desktop to version 5.19.4, KDE Framework to version 5.72.0, and KDE Applications to version 20.04.03.
Subsequently, it had given further touch-ups to GTK theme to look more similar to the Kvantum theme and the Plasma color scheme. Furthermore, Nitrux 1.3.1 now has an updated Luv icon theme, including the Wallpapers.
Like the previous release, v1.3.1 has also added more wallpaper to the default selection and replaced some of the files with uncompressed images for better quality.
Not just images, it has also replaced the user interface of Calamares installer with its QML port module, Calamares-QML. Additionally, Nitrux has fixed the problem with the environmental variables causing issues while changing application styles.
